Your book is such an important account of the sociopolitical gains and setbacks for Black women over the past few decades. It is quite fitting that your work is being recognized in the way you have so eloquently described. I hope it is used as a text across disciplines--history, women's studies, american studies...should be a "must read." Thank you for your fine work and for your inspiring words here.
